PHOTOGRAPHY EDUCATION
I love working with creative and ambitious photographers who want to grow their own potential.
Are you feeling like something is missing from your portrait photography practice? Do you get stuck when trying to light or pose your subjects? Or not sure which images should be front and centre of your eye popping portfolio?
I currently offer two types of mentorship; in person one-to-one workshops where we go through a number of lighting, posing and set building techniques, and one-to-one mentoring on an ongoing basis.
Apart from being a portrait and headshot photographer, I have been a lecturer at a number of universities for over twelve years, teaching undergrad and post grad students in art, curating and cultural studies, at Goldsmiths, University of Creative Arts and The University of Brighton. So, I know my way around a blackboard. I am also a mentor at Headshots Matter.
ONE TO ONE ONGOING MENTORING
I started my business almost five years ago and quickly sought out as much education as I could, joining programmes, watching YouTube videos, buying online courses - everything I could think of to grow my photography practice and business. But the one thing that fast tracked my development the most was seeking out the advice of people who had been there before. People who had seen and done everything I was struggling with.
That’s why I started this mentoring programme.
I love helping photographers develop their own style, create a beautiful portfolio and build an aligned business that helps them live a life they love. These mentoring sessions are aimed to help professional portrait and headshot photographers create work they are proud of and that sells! We will work together over a few months - the timeframe is dependent on your needs - during which time I create a bespoke mentoring programme that addresses the things you’re struggling with.
The things I care about in my photography - creating connection, making beautiful imagery and evoking the authentic in my subjects - will form the basis of the mentoring sessions. As such, each mentee will receive bespoke treatment, which will include, but not be limited to:
Portfolio review
Image critique
Assigning tasks to be completed each week
Reading and studying the work of other photographers
Deep dives on branding yourself as a photographer, marketing and pricing strategy
Website and social media usage
If you’d like to work with me, we start with a free, no obligation 30 min call where you can ask me questions about my practice, business and anything else. I like to offer value in this session, so if you choose not to carry on with the mentoring sessions, you will hopefully come away with some advice that you can put into practice - in this session I will also lay out what a mentoring relationship could look like. If you do decide you’d like to work with me ongoing, we will then schedule a planning call that dives deeper into the things you need help with and we talk through the next steps.
I only book a small cohort of mentees per quarter, so if there isn’t space for you this quarter, please email to get on the waiting list for the next one.
If you’d like to book a no obligation call with me, go ahead and use the form below.
