About me
I set up my business to give actors, performers, and professionals an alternative to the typical 90-minute “point and shoot” service. The result? A mutually fulfilling creative experience, leading to portraits and headshots that tell my clients’ stories and help them land those life-changing roles.
My story
I’m a professional headshot and portrait photographer. How I ended up here wasn’t the most straightforward of routes, but the best journeys are the winding ones.
After completing my PhD in Art Theory in 2020, I was on track to fulfil my ambition of a career in academia (after a year of DJing). But then the world shifted and a future working in university education looked less than promising. I pivoted, returning to a passion of mine – photography. Back in my art foundation course, I specialised in photography (it was the pre-digital darkroom days) and returning felt like coming home.
It didn’t take long to realise I love combining the artistic quality of photography with the utility of the headshot, so now that’s my focus. That, and supporting my clients to realise their life ambitions.
And I haven’t given up on teaching. I’m a lecturer at Goldsmiths, University of London, and I offer mentorship programmes to photographers looking to hone their skills.

Your story
To tell your story, my approach goes deeper. It’s creative, collaborative and gets the best out of you and me.
Humans love stories; they drive us, guide us, and enthral us. For me, headshot photography is much more than just showing a photograph that looks like you. It’s about telling a unique and compelling story about who you are as a performer and as a person.
People respond to authenticity, and that’s what I want to portray. That means longer sessions, building that connection that translates into compelling images. There’s no rush. No cheesy poses. No “smile for the camera.” We’re here to get to the truth of your story, and that takes time.

How I shoot artistic actors headshots
In every shoot I try to do something different. I want to add in a new element, try out a new idea, push in a different direction than the day before. I’m restless, frustrated by sameness - in both my own work and the work of others. I’ve always had this restlessness, this getting bored easily. I grew up in the countryside and would spend hours inventing games for myself because I had no siblings to play them with.

Our debut exhibition at the studio in Iliffe Yard is bought to you by Southwark based arts organisation The Ballad of Peckham Rye. Children’s Games, Heygate Estate by Mark Lewis highlights the gap between utopian visions and everyday realities. The work takes the form of an uninterrupted travelling shot, 7 minutes and 21 seconds in length, in which the camera moves along the elevated walkways of South London’s now-demolished Heygate Estate.
